$592,684 take-home for Sandeep Pulusani

2013-06-27

Sandeep Pulusani, a poker pro from Huntsville, Alabama is the latest bracelet winner at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, having triumphed in Event 44, a $3,000 buy-in no-limit holdem competition to claim the first prize of $592,684 and his first piece of WSOP jewellery.
To win, Pulusani had to survive a large field of over a thousand entrants, coming in to the final table after three days of tough poker as a low stack but finishing in the heads up against UK pro Niall Farrell and winning, despite a massive 8 to 1 disadvantage at the start.
The other final table cashes looked like this:

3 Michael Rocco $229,500
4 Martin Hanowski $166,579

6 Mark Teltscher $92,186
7 Nam Le $70,120
8 Pedro Rios $54,053
9 Phillippe Vert $42,23
Event 44 was Pulusani's biggest win yet in a career that has so far delivered 13 major tournament cashes and total winnings of almost $800,000.
